When I create a calendar event using iPhone native calendar the same event is in the wrong timezone in Outlook 365. Create an event on my phone for 7:00 PM Pacific time, displays correctly in outlook but when you edit the event, the timezone is for Monrovia!

iPhone event:

Event appears in Outlook365 with correct displaying of time:

When you edit the event, the timezone is in Monrovia not Pacific:

Problem was solved for my the university email when the university changed servers. When we were with the Microsoft Exchange server, the time zone synced to be Coordinated Universal Time and syncs in Monrovia. This occurred regardless of the iOS calendar or three different 3rd party calendars. My timezones were only correct if I used Outlook calendaring for my scheduling.

Last week, the University switched from Outlook Exchange server to a Google server. My calendar correctly syncs in my Pacific Time zone when viewed in iOS calendar or Outlook.

Now, I have one other account that is Microsoft Exchange. It remains incorrect, it displays Coordinated Universal Time and syncs elsewhere, not pacific time zone..

My conclusion, there is an issue with the Microsoft Exchange server.

    Hi Peggy,

I have some similar issues with an iphone and Office365 account.

Only events created on iPhone, with any time zone I choose from "Mexico", I will set the time zone as "Monrovia". If I choose, for example, Time zone from Houston Texas, the correct time zone is set. So I assume it has something to do with some of the Time Zones, not all of them.

Long time ago, I had this issue where Microsoft did not have the same "name" of the Time Zones on their servers, so when the IOS wanted to push an event with some times zones not having the same name, you´ll have an error.

Did you manage to find a solution?

I've tried the above steps. Installed Office 2021 instead of Office 365. Reset accounts. Turned timezone override on and off. Additionally, I downloaded three other calendar applications for the iPhone and in all three apps, appointments set on the iPhone were synced in Monrovia timezone on Outlook for Mac, indicating it is a server issue with Microsoft. What makes matters worse is that Monrovia does not change from daylight savings time so all appointments are an hour off.

    Any other proposed solutions?

    Hello Peggy A Mauk,

Thank you for posting this case in the Microsoft Community!

Based on your description: iOS calendar events and in the wrong timezone in Outlook for Mac. I would like to cooperate with you to work on this case. To clarify this case, please do not mind to collect the following information for further analysis:

    • Have you tried to create another calendar event set in the same timezone in Outlook for iOS if getting the same case in Outlook for Mac?
    • If this case only persists on one specific event from Outlook calendar for iOS?
    • How about your calendar timezone in Outlook for iOS via going to iPhone Settings>Calendar>Time Zone Override(If showing OfforOn?) ?
    • Have you tried to sign in to Outlook Web and check this synced event if getting the same case?

For my suggestion, if this case only persists on Outlook for Mac, you may check the following workaround:

    1. Firstly, you may try to re-configure your Outlook profile to check again and follow the below Microsoft article Manage profiles or identities in Outlook for Mac.
    2. If not working, please update your Outlook version for Mac by going to Outlook>Help>Check for Updates. Then you may check if working fine or not.
    3. You may try to delete Outlook cache files to fix this case. Follow the above steps to clear the cache and resolve the issue.

Note: Make sure your Mac is connected to the internet.

**Step 1:**Press "Command+Space" on the Mac keyboard to open Spotlight, type Outlook, and then press Enter.

**Step 2:**Go to Tools from the top menu.

Step 3: Select an account from the drop-down menu.

Step 4: In the "Accounts" tab, click the three-point icon.

**Step 5:**Select Reset Account from the drop-down menu.

At the prompt, click RestartNow. At this point, you have successfully cleared the Outlook cache. After restarting the Outlook application, it will download the email from the server again. This should solve the synchronization problem. If not, please proceed to the next method.

    1. Finally, you may try to re-install the Office 365 application for Mac and check if working or not.

Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 on a PC or Mac

Also for Outlook for Mac issues, you can directly reach out to the Outlook for Mac in-app Support Team, they have required more resources, so they assist you quickly with their resources. To contact them, kindly go to Help>Contact Support or check with Contact Support within Outlook for Mac - Microsoft Support. The support team over there has higher permission than us, they can remotely help you and collect logs at your convenience. They can also involve more resources to investigate the issue from the backend side. This would be the most efficient way to handle this case for you.

Hope the above workaround would be helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to let me know, and I will keep assisting you.

Your understanding and patience will be appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Community moderator
