Dear Ares booker

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community

I understand that you are unable to send and receive emails from your Gmail account in the new Outlook.

Thank you for your detailed description of the problem. According to your description, your other account is working fine but Gmail is not sending and receiving properly. This is indeed confusing. In my own testing I manually added 3 Gmail accounts to a new Outlook and it appears that they have no synchronization or sending/receiving issues.

Since most of the accounts seem to be fine, I would first suggest trying to delete and reconfigure your Gmail email in Outlook.

Typically, Gmail remembers its service in Outlook. If you're still experiencing the same problem after re-adding Gmail and it's still auto-configuring, you may want to try the following steps to remove access to Microsoft apps and services in Gmail.

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Sign in to your Google account on google.com.
  3. In the upper right corner, select your profile picture and then select Manage your Google Account.
  4. In the left menu, select Security.
  5. Scroll down to your connections to third-party apps and services, then select Microsoft Apps and Services.
  6. Find Microsoft apps and services that have some access to your Google account, then select View Details.
  7. Under “Access you've granted to Microsoft apps and services” ,select Remove all access.
  8. Select Confirm.

This is another way to sign in to the web version of Gmail (mail.google.com) and make sure that IMAP connectivity is enabled for your mailbox. Then generate an application password and retrieve the server address and port number needed to connect to Gmail via the IMAP protocol.

Return to New Outlook, close the browser manually while configuring Gmail, select Configure Mailbox Manually, and then select IMAP in the Service Provider options.

Enter the application password generated on the Gmail side (instead of the original account password) in the Password field.
