Outlook 2016 can't drag and drop emails after updates ??

Hello,

I did recent updates 2025-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5051987)

Security Update for Microsoft Office 2016 (KB5002686) 64-Bit Edition, Security Update for Microsoft Office 2016 (KB5002179) 64-Bit Edition, Security Update for Microsoft Office 2016 (KB5002684) 64-Bit Edition.

Since then I have lost drag and drop functionality in Outlook 2016 using PST when trying to move emails from one folder to another. Ex from Inbox to deleted items or elsewhere. I can right click and use the move command but can no longer drag and drop.

I can drag and move folders but not emails.

Any advice or fix for this??

Thanks, Robert

Uninstalled the update KB5051987 and the problem persists on SSMS, but just noticed that this only happens when SSMS is opened on the external display, on the laptop's display drag'n'drop works fine.

@Robert can you please check id you have the drag'n'drop issue also when you have Outlook opened on your laptop's or main display?

I'm having a similar issue on SQL Server Management Studio since the installation of the same KB, KB5051987, with the drag-n-drop feature completely disabled on SSMS, even on the view designer, while I can still drag'n'drop on other apps, such as the new Outlook, Visual Studio and others.

Hello, I have a personal Microsoft Account but not connected to any 365 products / subscriptions.

On my PC, Outlook 2016 runs as a standalone application using a PST file.
