New Outlook - How to transfer all to MacBook

So, through trouble shooting last night I was able to transfer the 'on my computer' folders from legacy Outlook to New Outlook.

However, now I need to migrate this from an old 2013 MacBook Air to a new 2024 MacBook Air. I can't use the Mac Migration Assistant, because only want my emails across at this stage; but I really need it to come across exactly the same, with all the email sorted into their correct folders.

Is this achievable? Can anyone provide instructions? Most of the instructions I've found online are for old versions of outlook.

    Hey,

I know this response is quite late, but I have also been frantically searching the web for a solution to migrate the 'On My Computer' folders ever since I picked up a new Macbook Pro last week. I tried something out and it worked like a charm! Below are the steps to follow:

    1. From your old device, in finder click GO, hold down the alt key and select 'Library'. Under library locate the folder - Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/Outlook/Outlook 15 Profiles
    2. You'll see the profile that was in use - Main Profile. Copy this folder 'Main Profile' onto a hard drive or safe space. You will need to copy this again onto your new device.
    3. On your new device, follow the folder path from step 1 and paste the 'Main Profile' in there. You'll already see there is an existing 'Main Profile', leave it as is, and rename the new one to Main Profile 2.
    4. Once that’s done, go into your applications, right click on Outlook and select ‘Show Package Contents’. Go into Contents > SharedSupport and open Outlook Profile Manager.
    5. In Outlook Profile Manager and you’ll notice 2 profiles in there - one default (Main Profile) created by your current Outlook and one which is the new profile (Main Profile 2), you copied from the old device. Select the new profile and set it as default and delete the other one. You can rename this to Main Profile. Open Outlook and you’ll see all the local folders in the same structure as you had it in your old device.

Note: Make sure Outlook isn't running while executing the above steps and you haven't created new folders on Outlook in your new device as this method only goes back to your last Outlook instance before the migration.

Hope this helps all the Outlook for Mac users :)

    Hello,

I had a similar issue with 'on my computer' folders/e-mails on one macbook and needing to move them to my new macbook. I did find a way to do it, although it was a bit tedious. (Tried all the other suggestions of exporting etc., did not preserve my carefully developed folder system)

First, from the old macbook, I copied all the folders/e-mails from the 'on my computer' folders to the 'online archive' folder in outlook, preserving the folder structure. Once all the folders had completely synched (that took some considerable time) I moved the the next step.

On the new computer, I copied all those same files from the 'online archive' folder to a new set of folders 'on my computer' on the new computer.

    Tedious, but effective.

    Hope this helps.

    Dear Megan Shaw1

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist!

Based on your description, I understand you concern with transferring all from old MacBook Air to New MacBook Air.

I do apologize that export/import .olm and .pst files feature of the NEW Outlook for Mac is not yet available. To transfer all things to New MacBook, you may try following steps:

    1. You may need switch back to Legacy Outlook. To switch back to legacy Outlook kingly click on Help menu and select Revert to Legacy Outlook.
    2. Export the data from the old MacBook: Select File > Export option > then export data file and save.
    3. Import the data files into new MacBook.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know, I will continue to assist you.

Thanks for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated. Have a nice day!

is it needed to 'revert to legacy outlook' also on the new MacBook?

and once the import done to come back to the new version?
