Right click for spelling and signature selection no longer works. This version is a total downgrade. MS should be ashamed.
The *new* Outlook is lousy and full of bugs. How to avoid using it in the future?
Hello,
the *new* Outlook ist totally useless.
There are so many features, that are not working:
- You cannot drag an attachment from an e-mail to another window.
- Shared Mailboxes are within the same mailbox, what is annyoing
- You cannot set folders of shared mailboxes as favourite
- If you are using more than one mailbox in outlook it is not possible to use the "Move"-command to move e-mails to other mailbox folders
- The configuration of rules is annoying
- There is no cache modus - if you are scrolling in the past it has to reload every page.
If you want to go back several months in e-mails, it takes several minutes in real-time. - Essentialy it is a web-version for the price of desktop software. Pay more - get less.
As said before: It is useless.
There a tons of postings listing tons of errors, but Microsoft didn't fix any of them and will release it anyways.
That Microsoft is forcing users to use this lousy piece of software is an impertinance!
Should we start a petition against it? Should we grab our torches and pitchforks and visit the headquarter?
How can we defend ourselves against this upcoming fiasco?
What's your opinion?

2025-02-11T21:11:49+00:00 I have had many iterations of Office and Outlook, but this latest Outlook version is not only the worst I have ever encountered, but will probably push me for the first time ever to an Apple MacBook next purchase so I don't ever have to deal with its quirks again. My wife and daughter have been using MacBook Pros for years without issues and I finally surrender!

2025-03-04T21:50:40+00:00 That's it. I have had enough. I am moving to gmail.
Do not ever mention microsoft in my presence ever again.
I have missed meetings, important information, I have spent hours looking for emails i know have come but appear in the most unintelligent places.
It is costing me a fortune and serious blood pressure rises.
Msoft has forced me to use a service or rather disservice I never asked for.
I am going to google and then over time to Apple
I HATE Microsoft now

2025-01-16T08:46:59+00:00 Outlook *new* is unable to open PST-files as well:
Good day.
Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.
I understand your concern regardingmounting a PST file in the new version of Outlook*. Unfortunately, the new Outlook for Windows does not currently support direct access to PST files.*
And "currently" means "will never", I guess.
Now you need to use a separate viewer-tool - very convenient.
Or you can import from PST into your mailbox - but most people exported their old mails to PST to free up mailbox space.
So this would be a stupid move.***Edit: And not even that is possible, as far as I can tell !! Tried it today - I found no way to do it. Switched back to Outlook Classic. ***
Another example of the uselessness of *new* Outlook.

2025-02-19T21:32:37+00:00 I too have found the above issues and now it will not download new emails. I have work on this issue for 4 days and I quit. I remove the whole entire program. I am at the point where I am transitioning to Google. I been with Microsoft for years. And it has not been an easy journey. I think this might be their end. E mail is a very important and critical feature especially in today's world. I've already miss 2 appointment notices. And they were extremely important. But I had them on the cell phone just in case. Microsoft AI is a good feature answer a lot of issues. but could not answer this one. As for as Microsoft service or repair group I have never ever got any real help. In the old days you were on hold for hours. I really don't think Microsoft cares. They got 2 big for their pants. I work and repair computers and I had transitioned my customers to google till issue is resolved. And to let their family and friends know. So, for others I have not found a free download of the classical outlook! There are some out there for sale, but I rather not pay for the ransom. That fix where you go into your registry is iffy. I would suggest don't bother. I have my original Windows 10 cd program, but I had not been able to extract it from my CD or find instructions how to do it. My best advice dump outlook and find other emails apps. Microsoft you got a real piece of **** in this new outlook. And no not planning to go to 11 if this a sign your work no thanks. You already state I got to buy a new computer because this one is incompatible which I think is a bunch of bull!
