Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hello Laura078
Good day and thanks for posting in Microsoft community
We understand it's annoying when the calendar settings don’t behave the way you expect, especially when it’s something as sensitive as who can see your schedule. Please keep in mind, Outlook’s default behavior often allows internal colleagues to see your calendar. If the permission to block the organization is greyed out, it might be due to organizational-level policies.
Please keep in mind Outlook for Business has a feature that allows certain levels of calendar visibility like None, can edit and others. However, can you please confirm that your calendar sharing settings are configured to restrict access properly?
- Open Outlook.
- Go to your Calendar.
- On the ribbon, select Share Calendar > Calendar Permissions.
- In the Permissions tab, you should see a list of people and groups who have access to your calendar.
- Look for the Default permission level, and ensure it’s set to None (this will ensure no one can view your calendar unless specifically granted access).
However, if you want to remove visibility for specific users or groups but can’t do it for everyone at once, you can remove access for specific users. Share and access a calendar with edit or delegate permissions in Outlook - Microsoft Support
Kindly provide more information on the following if the above steps don't help for us to continue troubleshooting.
- What specific version of Outlook are you using?
- Do you know if your organization has specific policies in place that restrict calendar permission changes?
- Have you tried adjusting your calendar visibility settings to "Private" or "None" in the Calendar Permissions tab?
Kindly let me know your responses to the above questions, and feel free to share any other details you think might help us resolve the issue. I look forward to your reply and am here to assist further. Please understand that our initial response may not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Hope this helps! Please feel free to repost if you need further assistance on the issue. We are here to help in away.
Sincerely,
