But that is my problem, i don not have the option to Remove attachment in the dropdown:
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I'm testing the new Outlook App on Windows. In the classic App I could klick on the dropdown of an email attachement and delete it (to only save the original emial, without the attachement) but in the new version there is no option to delete the attachement?
It is mandatory at our company to archive old emails for process traceability. However, any attachments (for example if it containing data subject to an NDA) must be deleted.

Thanks for the reply and workaround tip, which reakly is not going to be working in a couple of month when the new Outlook will be switched as mandatory and the problem with new outlook not working with .pst files ist also still ongoing...
Dear Peer_py,
Good day! Thank you for replying to the Microsoft Community. We'll be happy to help!
First of all, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to your work.
After a lot of research, I found a lot of users face the same issue and reported it to Microsoft, This functionality is currently exclusive to Classic Outlook. Microsoft is gradually rolling out features to the New Outlook app, and this capability might be added in the future.
Current Workaround Options:
1. Switch to Classic Outlook: Since you already use Classic Outlook, continue performing this action there for compliance with your company's requirements. You can toggle back to Classic Outlook by disabling the New Outlook toggle in the app.
2. Forward the Email Without Attachments:
- Open the email in New Outlook.
- Click Forward and manually remove the attachment from the forwarded draft.
- Save the email as a draft or send it to yourself to retain a copy without the attachment.
3. Archive Emails Without Attachments Using Export/Import: Export the emails to a local .pst file using Classic Outlook after removing attachments. This approach ensures traceability without storing the attachments.

We hope that Microsoft team would be able to incorporate the "remove attachment" option on the NEW OUTLOOK Version. It would be quite a hassle switching back and forth from New to Classic version just to remove a specific attachment.
Best regards.
Paul
Thank you for your advice.
Unfortunately, the "new" outlook I have does not have a "Remove Attachment" selection (only preview, open, copy and save as).
Is there something wrong with my install?
