Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Dear MaureenGilliland,
Thank you for your response, and I sincerely apologize for the earlier misunderstanding.
Since Outlook Classic is more suitable for your workflow and offers a more familiar interface, switching back to it sounds like a great decision. However, should you need to use Outlook Web in the future, here are a few steps that may help ensure your drafts are saved automatically:
- Clear & Reset Browser
Clear your browser’s cache, cookies, and history, especially anything related to Outlook or Office 365, and restart the browser. Alternatively, try using an InPrivate/Incognito window. If auto-save works there, it likely indicates a cache or cookie issue. - Disable Browser Extensions
Temporarily disable all browser extensions (e.g., ad blockers, script blockers). If drafts save correctly afterward, re-enable extensions one by one to identify the cause. - Try a Different Browser
If you usually use Chrome, try Outlook Web in Edge or Firefox. This can help determine if the issue is browser-specific. - Check Security Software
If you use third-party antivirus or internet security software, try disabling it briefly to test draft saving. Please ensure this is done safely and re-enable protection afterward. - Frequent Manual Saves
As shown in the screenshot below, you can manually save your draft by selecting the dropdown next to the discard button and choosing “Save draft.” Drafts are also automatically saved in the Drafts folder on the left panel.
We hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any other concern about this or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us so we can take a look and keep supporting you.
