Not Receiving Vital Email

Hello.

I have been unable to receive vital capstone information for my graduate project through Outlook and now it may be too late for me to meet by deadline. My inbox is almost completely empty, including my trash and junk folders. Somehow, my advisor at the university got one email through to me but has repeatedly attempted to send another. We have been trying the entire summer term to complete my program, but now may not be able to because the email program isn't working. If anyone can please help with this this issue or help refund me the tuition that Microsoft owes me, I would appreciate it. They're also cheap enough to direct me to a forum instead of help, themselves...

    Hi Harrison,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Support.

I’m truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you've been experiencing with receiving important emails related to your capstone project.

To better assist you, could you please provide more details about the problem? Here are a few questions that will help us scope the issue:

    Account Details

    1. Is your current account a personal Microsoft account (e.g., Outlook.com, Hotmail.com) or a school account provided by your organization?
    2. Is your account part of a Microsoft 365 tenant managed by your school or IT department?

    Email Settings & Filters

    1. Have you checked your junk, spam, deleted, and archive folders?
    2. Do you have any rules or filters set up that might be moving or deleting emails automatically?
    3. Is your inbox storage full or close to its limit?

    Security & Blocking

    1. Is your advisor’s email address blocked or marked as spam?
    2. Have you recently changed your password or had any security alerts on your account?

    Advisor’s Side

    1. Has your advisor received any bounce-back or delivery failure notifications?
    2. Have they tried sending the email from a different address or using a different subject line?

    IT Support & Recovery

    1. Have you contacted your university’s IT help desk? If so, what did they say?
    2. Can IT support recover lost emails or check server logs for delivery attempts?

    Alternative Communication

    1. Can your advisor send the information via Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive?
    2. Do you have a backup email address they can use?

Your response will help us determine the appropriate recovery steps. Please let us know at your earliest convenience.

    Best regards,
