Simon Thank you for your response. I will attach a screenshot of my error message after I add some more clarity to my issue. I have two (2) seperate email accounts as previously mentioned. I have gone to both my Gmail and AOL account pages and changed my passwords. I am sure I have been using accurate passwords. My AOL email comes up by default. I enter my password and get an error message (screen shot to follow). After the error message, I have the option to use the drop-down menu to select my Gmail email, however, when I do this, I get another error message saying this email account has already been added. At this point I am at a standstill. I just wasted money on a useless program at this time. I am not an expert by no means, but last year's renewal went really smooth, and I am not brand new to this process. I don't get the option to enter my Gmail password. I just a couple days ago purchased my renewal from a military base as I did last year. I am a Navy Veteran.
How to open/sign in to Outlook?
I just renewed my subscription for MS 365 Family Edition. Excel, word, PowerPoint seems to be working fine. However, when I try to open Outlook I cannot get past the sign in page. I previously had two (2) email accounts (@gmail.com and @aol.com) where both accounts were synced to my previous 365 subscription of Outlook and worked great. Now, no matter which email account and passwords I try to use I keep getting error messages preventing from proceeding to open Outlook. Please help....anyone. Any ideas? Thank you

2025-03-04T17:00:47+00:00 As I read it this question is nothing to do with accessing mailboxes. It's about being unable to open Outlook at all because it can't find the profile. That's the problem I have now. The advice that I find on Microsoft is no help at all. It says I can create a new profile in Control Panel but there is no such option available. Please help, anyone!

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.
I understand that you cannot configure your Gmail and aol mailboxes in Outlook. I would like to ask a few questions, after getting to know more about your mailbox. I will continue to help you here. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Can you show a screenshot of the error message you are experiencing. If I can get a clearer picture of the cause of the error. I can provide a more accurate solution.
You can test logging into a Microsoft domain mailbox such as Outlook, Hotmail, Live, MSN mailbox. Check if the Outlook login mailbox function is working properly.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thank you.

Welcome back to the Microsoft Community.
Thank you for your reply and detailed explanation. I can answer your questions one by one.
First, let's talk about your AOL mailbox login problem. When AOL mailbox logs in to third-party mailbox software such as Outlook, you need to use the application password instead of the mailbox password itself. The application password needs to be generated in the settings or security of the mailbox web page. You can ask AOL support staff how to generate the application password. And open IMAP/POP/SMTP settings. Some mailbox providers require that two-step verification must be enabled before logging into Outlook. You can also ask AOL support staff for this situation.
Regarding the Gmail issue, it is possible that your Windows account is logged in with this Gmail. So when you log in to the new Outlook, the Windows account is recognized, causing this situation. Go to Windows Settings. Click Accounts->Email & Accounts. Check if there is a Gmail account there. You can delete it.
I understand that you have subscribed to Microsoft 365 Family. Subscribing to the Family version gives you access to Outlook Classic. You are currently using the new Outlook. This is a free software. Outlook Classic is the paid email software for Microsoft 365. You can try it.
Right click on the Windows icon and click “Run”. Or click “Win + R” on your keyboard to enter Run command line. Type Outlook and click OK. If you have Classic Outlook in your computer. it will open. Then you can pin it to the taskbar.
You can also search for Outlook in the taskbar. Outlook Classic and Outlook (New) display different icons.
I wish you all the best,
