E-mail to 'outlook group' being undeliverable unless a member of the private group?

I created a private group in Outlook for our workforce with an E-mail address example of: *********. I have added those in our workforce as group members so we all have access to it. However when someone external to the company tries to e-mail it, the e-mail is rejected and we don't receive it. How can i make it so people not in our group, can e-mail our workforce e-mail address?

    Any owner of the M365 Group can do this themselves;
    Group Settings-> Edit-> Set the option; Let people outside the organization email the group.

    This, unlike the similar answer of Nam-D, will not require Exchange Administrator permissions.

    Hi Demi Vesinger,

    Thank you for sharing on Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you here.

    When you create an Outlook Private Group, you tenant will automatically create a Microsoft 365 group. By default, the option for "Let people outside your organization email this team" is turn off. Therefore, when external user (outside your organization) emails this group, the email will bounce back.

    To turn on this feature, please follow these steps: Go to Exchange Admin Center > Teams and groups > Active teams and groups > Search for this group in Teams and Microsoft 365 groups > Select this group > Settings > tick on "Let people outside the organization email this team > Save. It will take couple of times to take effect.
