Autocorrect i to "I"

This is a simple request but the "auto capitalize" feature in the editor is not allowing the word I to be capitalized correctly. This is very frustrating, and I have no option to add it to the editor's dictionary... is there any new headway for a problem that is a year old?

Being a non-English speaking (and writing) person, I face the exact opposite problem - the new outlook capitalizes i EVERY time I write it in any sentence. The word "i" means "in" in my language, which makes for a super annoying feature when it is changed to "I", as that means "you, plural" ..

I cannot for the life of me find a way to fix this, as it is not listed in the auto-correct options in the new editor.

Please consider your non-English speaking customers

A standalone "i" should always be capitalized, this needs to be fixed!

watching the replies to this is just disheartening. its wild to think that Classic outlook has all this implemented and its so buttery smooth, then new outlook launched and its by "Design Choice". what a crock.

I don't see how users cant make their own choices on autocorrect. give us an autocorrect listing / dictionary where we can elect to autocorrect the word i into I. Dont into Don't. Theyre into They're. etc. etc. etc......

this is not a big complicated ask. and its been on the radar for WELL over a year now....

    do better.

Okay, I see... I will say I have been using that as a solution for a bit now and it truly is frustrating Like you mentioned, it reduces efficiency when I send out emails. I send over 40 emails within a few hours, so you can understand my frustration.

That isn't my only gripe... contraction words are not being auto corrected like on other platforms as well. (i.e, don't, can't, won't, didn't) These never get autocorrected, and it wastes time to have to go back and fix the "error".

This was implemented in the previous Outlook, can it be implemented now? I am not the only one who is frustrated with this... there are many forums requesting a solution for these rather simple pains.

I know you aren't the creator of Outlook New but your help is appreciated, however far it can go.
