Split from this thread.

This is unacceptable. How do you not include an import/export rules feature? I've just spent all this time building rules and now I can't migrate them. Incredibly disappointing.

"We are happy to help you."

Having been in Support, I woudn't have been happy to help, with this reponse. It's not help, it's just relaying the really bad news that a Mega-Company is removing very useful functionality.

    It's unbelievable, really.

If there is a feature missing from the New Outlook that you really need and you can not remain on or switch back to MS365 Classic Outlook, then I would suggest buying a license for Office Home & Business 2024. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p/office-home-business-2024/cfq7ttc0pbm7

This gets you a copy of the real, classic, Desktop Outlook 2024. Outlook 2024 is NOT the New Outlook (even though many web sites mistakenly call the New Outlook "Outlook 2024"). Outlook 2024 is NOT the MS365 Classic Outlook (but MS365 Classic Outlook was based on Outlook 2019). Outlook 2024 is the latest in a long line of Desktop Outlooks, from Outlook 2007 thru Outlook 2019.

    That is typical Microsoft upgrades.

They move buttons around and limit functionality.

    No improving charts, ect.

Not being able to export rules is a drag!

Is this with a mere hope that New Outlook will be able to accept the format of the export from Outlook? Because it won't really matter otherwise, and even then an item not on the roadmap isn't worth waiting for. Everyone has to manually handle this process, and it's an absolute joke. Especially given that the Rules UI in New Outlook is broken in many, many ways.

    Dear Rhet Hulbert,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

Based on your description, I understand that you have a query "No import/export feature for rules in the new Outlook".

I really understand your concern here. The lack of an import/export feature for rules in the new Outlook can be quite inconvenient, especially after investing time in setting them up. Unfortunately, as of now, the new Outlook does not support importing or exporting rules directly. While not ideal, manually recreating the rules in the new Outlook is a temporary solution. You can keep a list of your current rules and set them up again in the new interface.

Microsoft is actively developing the new Outlook, and user feedback is crucial. You can submit your feedback directly within the Outlook app by going to Help > Feedback. This can help prioritize the addition of this feature in future updates. You can also create an entry as a feature suggestion in feedback collection at Outlook · Community (microsoft.com) and many other users could vote for it. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback.

Alternately, if possible, you can switch back to the classic Outlook temporarily to use the import/export feature. Once you've exported your rules, you can keep the file for future use when the feature becomes available in the new Outlook.

Keep an eye on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap for updates on new features. Microsoft may add the import/export functionality in future releases based on user demand.

We really appreciate your patience and cooperation in this situation!
