Can I Change The Account Associated With My Xbox?

I made an Xbox account years ago when I only had one account for everything. This account has my actual name attached so I prefer to use it for business related matters. It's also be subjected to a multitude of hacking attempts over the decade. So I'd like to separate I from my gaming related things and attached an email I made and currently use for everything else gaming related. Is this possible and if so, how? And no I don't mean changing the alias. That doesn't help when I use it for important things and I don't want to have to make another account for that when I already have and use one.

Hello, unfortunately, there’s no way to transfer your Xbox profile, including your Gamertag, progress, and purchases, to a different Microsoft account. It’s permanently linked to the one you originally used.

The best workaround, even if it’s not your favorite, is to add your new email as a sign-in alias on your current account and then make it the primary address. This lets you stop using the old email without losing any of your stuff.

If you really want to separate things completely, you’d have to create a brand new Microsoft account for gaming, but that means starting from scratch. You can use “Home Xbox” game sharing to share games between accounts, but your profile and game history won’t transfer.
