I have tried logging in with the given username, but I forgot the password so when I clicked on forgot password it is redirecting me to a link and asking the exact subject lines and mail IDs of the sent mails from this account. But this is a new mail and I have not sent any mail from this account, so I am unable to reset my password. It would be really helpful if you could reset my password and send the password or a link to directly Change the password

    Hi Konakandla,

Thank you for your update. It really helps clearing things up!

Since your account is a personal account, please kindly try the following suggestions to resolve:

    1. Go to the Password Reset Page
      • Visit the official Microsoft password reset page:
        Reset your password
      • Click “Forgot password?” and enter your account email
    2. Use the Account Recovery Form
      • If you can’t verify your identity, fill out the Microsoft Account Recovery Form
      • Use any working email address (even a friend’s) so Microsoft can contact you
      • Provide as much information as you can, even if you don’t remember exact subject lines or recent emails

If the problem persists, you may need to reach out to Microsoft personal support

    1. Go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus
    2. Choose Office > Get Home support

    1. Enter Office or your issue in general in the box below "We're here for you" then click "Get Help
    2. Scroll down and click on Contact Support then log in to your personal Microsoft account
If the account cannot be logged in, you can use another account or create a new account to execute

    3. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" in Products & Services, select "Technical Support" as a category, and click Confirm
    4. Select "Chat in a web browser and support specialist" to enter the chat window

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

I hope this helps with the issue! I'll be glad to hear your update.

If you have any other questions or need additional support, feel free to reach out.

    Best regards,

    Dear Konakandla,

Good day! Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you.

I apologize for the experience you have had with this issue.

Regarding your situation, since you have entered the incorrect password many times and that led to your account being locked, you wouldn't be able to reset a forgotten password for a work or school account using Security Info.

Therefore, you’ll need to contact your school’s IT administrator or helpdesk since Microsoft does not manage individual educational accounts directly.

The IT admin can reset your password or unlock your account from the Microsoft 365 admin center.

If you’re unsure who the IT/Global Admin is within your school account's organization, you can find guidance on locating them here:  How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

I hope this helps with the issue! I'll be glad to hear your update.

If you have any other questions or need additional support, feel free to reach out.

    Best regards,

Julie-Hu - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
