How can I filter marketing emails in Outlook?

I'm using the Outlook app that comes built into Windows 11. Lately, I'm getting a ton of marketing and promo emails, and I'd really like to filter or block them automatically.

Is there a way in Outlook to set up rules or filters to move these emails to another folder, or just block them completely?

Any tips, tricks, or best practices would be super helpful!

    Hello Anthony,

Thank you for posting this issue in the community forum.

Anthony, yes, there's a way to do that in Outlook. You can set rules so that you won't receive any unwanted promotional emails. to do that you can follow this article below

Anthony you are not following the steps properly
Follow the steps given below: -

    1. Select Settings Settings icon.
    2. Select Mail. Then under Mail, select Rules.
    3. Select Add new rule The Add icon.
    4. Type a name for the inbox rule in the Name your rule box and then select a condition and action from their respective drop-down lists. You can add additional conditions or actions by selecting Add a condition or Add an action.
    5. Add exceptions to the inbox rule by selecting Add exception and then choosing one from the Add exception menu.

    Thanks for your help.

However, when I right-click the file, I don’t see the "Rule" option.

Could it be due to a recent Outlook update?
