The New Outlook won't recognize my charter.net email account

I have been using the "new Outlook" for about a month. Two weeks ago, we left for vacation, and when I returned, I could not access my Charter Spectrum email account in Outlook. I have verified that my Charter account is in good standingf and I can log in to Charter webmail to view my emails. Charter indicates that the problem is not on their side, but I can't get a straight answer on the Outlook side to get my charter account showing up in Outlook again.

Same here. I've been told it is a glitch in Microsoft's software that is preventing interface with Charter.net accounts. Outlook/Microsoft has known of this glitch for months and to date have done nothing to try to fix it.

I've sent several requests to them to solve this issue and the silence is deafening. You can, of course, still access your Charter account through the Spectrum website which I have been doing. They forced us onto the new Outlook and now we're stuck with it.

Same here, and I have double checked everything I know to check but still can't get email on the new outlook app. Microsoft kept reminding me to go to the new outlook just to find out that it doesn't work with a Charter account. Someone at Microsoft must be tech savvy enough to figure this out and supply a fix or update the new outlook app. so it'll work properly.

-Please Read Post all the way through before attempting-

I posted about a month or so ago that the new outlook email had stopped working with my Charter internet account which I had. I double checked all my settings and password within my Charter account when setting up and it still would not setup my email.

I tried setting up the email a couple of days ago and it is working again, so I thought I would share the steps I took. They may work for you and then again they may not.

First, I'm running an MSI computer with an AMD Ryzen 7 8700F 8-core processor. It has Windows 11 Home 24H2 installed on it with an OS build 26100.3624. My first step was to make sure my Windows had the latest updates installed. Then I completely deleted my email account from my system. Next, I right clicked on the start menu and went to "system" which brings up a long menu. You can check your OS build here and other info about your system. Here on top Microsoft wanted me to setup a phone number to be sure I always had access to my system and could recover it in case something happened. I had seen this before but thought I did not need this because it seemed an unnecessary step to me. Well, I did complete this step this time around and I'm not sure if it helped me get my email back working or not but I have tried several times before without completing this step and my email would not setup properly and when I completed this step it setup properly. From here I clicked on "accounts", and you can see your email account if you did not fully delete it off your system, which I suggest doing above before starting this process. Here one can setup the email account anew and hopefully it will now work.

Be sure to get your email setting correct before starting this process. I have mine written down so I know what they are should something happen. If you don't know where to get these settings and still have your old email setup you can bring up your email then click the gear looking icon in the upper right corner. If you put your cursor on it "settings" should appear before clicking on it. From here click on "accounts" then on the right window you should see your email account and click "manage". Scroll down to the "advanced setting" section and under it should be all the setting you will need to re setup your email account. If you're not sure your setting are correct check with your provider.

Hope this works for you because these steps got my charter email up and running again.

So I'm stuck with using Spectrum's clunky webmail interface... or, go to all my contacts that use my charter account for contact info and change it to my gmail account... ;-(
