Not receiving automated emails like verification emails or automated sports emails

Hello,

For a few months now I haven't been receiving any e-mails that are automated. For instance, the e-mails you get from various companies or websites when you sign up that want you to verify your e-mail address by sending you a code. I never receive the code. This isn't just one particular domain, this has happened with several domains. I work in IT so I've checked all the usual places like spam or junk folder, adding to safe sender list, checking block list, etc.

This is also happening with automated e-mails that I should be getting from my kids sporting events. I would normally get automated messages saying "practice is next week at 10AM" as example from ******@bluesombrero.com.

This appears to be happening from any non human sending e-mails. I think Outlook is blocking them for some reason like they are spam. I need these e-mails and I can't even talk to anyone at Outlook about it.

Can someone please help?!?

P.S -- This happens on Outlook on the Web and the Outlook App the e-mails don't appear on either so it's not any kind of rule (although I checked all my rules and got rid of them all). I've also tried new Outlook and Classic and have the same issue.

Hello Lonex P, I have the same issue as GBL, except that I spoke to the company who was trying to email me, and they are saying that their error message is telling them that they cannot even send the email. The error message is "Cannot (or "can't") send email." Its automated reminders only, yet when they manually try to send me something by typing in my email it goes out just fine. And, I had to give the sender a different email, so I used my Gmail and it worked just fine. Could you look into all of this from your end please? It appears to be an Outlook issue, not an issue with us email users.

I have the same issue with this Outlook email of mine and a different company who cannot send out the automated emails.

    Thank you

    Alison

I've tried all of those already and am still having the issue. This has happened to multiple emails, not just from one sender. Are you able to do a message trace from a certain domain to my email address to check where the email went?

    Thanks

    Hi ChrisGbl

I appreciate your patience and thorough troubleshooting! Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to perform a message trace myself, but you can request one through Outlook.com Support. Please follow the steps from this link: How to get support for Outlook.com - Microsoft Support.

    Hi ChrisGbl

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand the frustration you're experiencing with not receiving automated emails in Outlook. To address this issue, please try the following steps:

    1. Check your Outlook settings to ensure that automated emails are not being filtered as spam. You can adjust your spam filter settings by going to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Junk email.
    2. Make sure that the email addresses sending the automated emails are not blocked or marked as junk. You can check your blocked senders list by going to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Junk email > Blocked senders.
    3. Verify that the emails are not being redirected to a different folder or being automatically deleted. You can check your inbox rules by going to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Rules.
    4. If the issue persists, you may want to contact your email provider or IT department to ensure that there are no server-side filters blocking these emails.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue you're facing with not receiving automated emails in Outlook. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out.

    Best Regards,

    Lonex P.
