Trouble Receiving / Sending Email in New Outlook

I have successfully been using New Outlook until yesterday. For the main email address, "New" Outlook does not receive mail and puts all of the Sent emails into the Draft folder. A total of three email addresses use New Outlook. The other two email addresses are working fine.

I switched to Classic Outlook and all three email addresses work fine.

I went to the malfunctioning email account in New Outlook to try to "repair" it. I was asked to sign into my email provider (Xfinity/Comcast). I received the message "Sign in" failed.

I logged into Xfinity online account with my username and password. Was able to successfully load my email from the Xfinity server.

Cannot figure out what is going on with New Outlook. I suppose that I am OK by continuing to use Classic Outlook or logging in to Xfinity.

    Hi SusanJader,

Thank you for Posting in Microsoft Community

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with New Outlook. Since the issue seems to be specific to one email account, it could be related to the account settings or configuration in New Outlook. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check the account settings in New Outlook:
      • Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
      • Select the problematic email account and click on "Change".
      • Verify that the incoming and outgoing mail server settings are correct. You may need to contact your email provider (Xfinity/Comcast) for the correct server settings.
    2. Remove and re-add the email account:
      • Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
      • Select the problematic email account and click on "Remove".
      • Then, click on "New" to add the account again and follow the on-screen instructions.
    3. Update New Outlook:
      • Make sure you have the latest updates installed for New Outlook. Go to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now.

Let me know how it goes,

    Best Regards,

    Bench,

Thank you for your answer. Actually, something "strange" happened with my email in New Outlook several hours after my post.

All of the emails that ended up in the Draft folder instead of being sent, appeared in my Inbox. They were from Microsoft Outlook and all had a red ! mark followed by the words "High Importance." The words "we couldn't deliver your message" were written with details about when I tried to send the message, etc. They also stated "Test Technical Details MessageDeliveryFailedExceptio"

I just assumed that someone at Microsoft saw my post and fixed whatever was wrong.

I will keep your answer in case something goes wrong again. Thank you for your time!

    Susan
