How to Poster Print in Word

How do you poster print in Word?  I would like to be able to create a document and have it print onto 9 different sheets of paper to create a poster.  For example, if the document just contained 1 photo the size of the whole document, when it printed, it would print sort of like a puzzle with parts of it on 9 different pieces of paper that I would be able to tape together to form a big poster.

Thank You!

As mentioned previously, Word is not the best application for your requirements; Publisher, PowerPoint or any other graphic application would do better.

But saying that, if you must use Word, then create it as you need, then convert to a PDF. Then using Acrobat itself you do get the option to Print to "Tile Large Pages" which will give you options to split the one page across many pages.

There are other PDF creating software not just Adobe (some are free) but I do not know if they also have this facility.

    Hope this helps

You cannot do it in Word.  Try using Excel instead.

Excel, Publisher, and (I think) PowerPoint can tile documents across several sheets, but you may still be able to stay in Word if your printer has a poster printing setting.

If you can create a PDF by any method, Adobe Reader also has the ability to tile large pages.

For Poster Printing in Word go to File, Print, Printer Properties, Finishing, Pages per Sheet and Posters, Select, hre you can choose 4 sizes: 2x2 (4 sheets), 3x3 (9 sheets), 4x4 (16 sheets) and 5x5 (25 sheets)
