You can open them using Excel 2010 and convert to the required format.

By default the .wk4 files are blocked in excel 2010, there is an option that you can enable to open the files, however you cannot save the file in.wk4 format

Steps to open a  .wk4 in Excel 2010:

    1. File >> Options>> TrustCenter>>TrustCenter settings
    2. File Block settings>> enable to file type you want excel to open

The above statement is wrong. Simply check the help file, and you will figure out, that the Lotus 123 files made it to the list of unsupported formats (already with Office 2007).

Even if it is not blocked, you will not get readable content.

The only options to open I know are a 3rd party converter tool or a (virtual) machine with Lotus installed.

If you download and install IBM Lotus Symphony 1.3 (tested on Windows 7 x64), you can also load old Lotus Word Pro and 123 files and save them to another file format, i. e. Word/Excel 2003 or Open Office. The new version 3.0 lost this ability as well.

I know it's a old subject but I know it could be of help. I found the solution in another topic. Only one word in Google to type: Gnumeric. Look for the download on the web site source forge. It's an open software. All free. It like excel so just select open file. Then select "view all files" and open your'e ".wk4" file. I took this info on this site http://myriadofthings.com/save-lotus-1-2-3-wk4-files-in-excel-format/.

I did not look if formula has all been converte but I have the text and number.

    Have a good day.

I've tried the above steps as well and I can verify that there is no option to allow .wk4 files in the TrustCenter Options of Office 2010.
