You have to do the conversion using Apple's Numbers program. In Numbers, choose File > Export. Choose Microsoft Excel format. Numbers can export in an Excel format such that features supported in Excel 97 through 2004 are retained when opened in Excel.

What's hilarious here is that no one answering really addressed your issue, which is the one I have currently. I have a .number file that I need to open on a PC. I cannot go back to the apple app and export it to excel format, thus I have the file. If there is no way to do that then please someone state that, thanks.

You'll need to post more details about what you want to do.

You could download Apache Open Office. It will open both apple & Microsoft files and you can save as the other. You will likely lose some formatting in the conversions, though.

This is a file format for iWord on the MAC.

I was given this file by my brother in law who is keeping track of my fathers affairs. That entire branch of the family only uses MAC's and they haven't sent me another file.

    Can you help?
