This occurs if the Ole32.dll file is not registered on the computer. Before registering the file uninstall any multiple version of office on the computer.

First Check for multiple versions of office on the computer: click on Start > Control Panel > Programs and features

Keep only one version of office on the computer, Uninstall any office trials in the list.

Repair Office 2007 on the computer and then reboot the system.

Follow these steps to register the Ole32.dll files

1.       Click Start, click Run (shortcut key 'windows key +R), type regsvr32 ole32.dll in the Open box, and then click OK.

2.       Click OK when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in OLE32.DLL succeeded.

Hope this information is helpful.

I think it just went away; a while ago so I've forgotten the details. Sorry!

In case anyone runs across this - I just did.

You must run the CMD prompt with Administrator privledges - I got the error, but my user is not part of the local Administrators group.

    • Click on Start
    • Open All Programs
    • Open Accessories
    • Right-Click on Command Prompt
    • Select "Run as Administrator"
    • Provide the credentials of a user who is a local Administrator.
    • Enter each of the two regsvr32 lines listed above one at a time, then press the <ENTER> key - they should register successfully
