I have purchased a copy of Office 2003 from a seller on Ebay who states that they have uninstalled it on their PC, but when I try to activate I get a message that it have already been activated. Do I need to buy an unactivated copy or can I get this one unactivated then re-activate on my PC?

    Hi

Even though the prior owner of that version of Office 2003 has uninstalled the software, the Product Key will still be registered on the activation servers.

You simply need to use the telephone option to activate the product key.

    1. Press the Windows Logo Key+R. This will bring up theRun dialog box.
    2. In the Open: box, type  slui 4  and press OK. This will start the manual activation wizard.
    3. Select your Country in the drop down menu and clickNext.
    4. The wizard will display a Toll Free phone number.Leave the wizard open on the computer andcall that phone number.

You will be given some recorded options. Select the option to talk to a live representative.

Explain the situation and the representative will manually activate that system for you.

I also purchased a copy of Office 2003 several years ago and when trying to install on a new computer got the message about having already installed the product.  There was no activation phone number to call.

Is Microsoft really forcing long time customers to buy new products or are thy abandening us?  When I bougot the product there was no mention of a time limit on use.

    Please Help!
