Creating tooltips in a Microsoft Word Document

I have a Microsoft Word Document that is being used as a template for others in my organization.  I am interesting in creating tool tips for certain parts of the document to make the template more user friendly.  Essentially, I would like it if when users hover their mouse over certain areas of the document (a block of lines that require some fill-in text) a pop-up tooltip would be displayed to the user provided directions on what type of information is needed on the block of empty lines.  Is this possible in MSWord 2003?

    Hi Fullerru,

I am doing exactly the same thing right now but with Word 2007. If what you are trying to do is the same then you can find the instructions for Word 2003 here:http://www.ehow.com/how_2125459_create-custom-screen-tip-microsoft.html

You may also consider the use of a userform (a custom dialog into which the user insert information that is then transferred to the appropriate places in the document)

See the article "How to create a Userform" at:

    http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm

and the following pages of Greg Maxey's website :

In word 2003, to insert a comment, on the Insert menu , select Comment.

You could try doing that with Comments.  I don't have Word 2003 in front of me but in 2007/2010 that would be on the Review tab.  Maybe there's a Review menu?
