printing multiple postcards with Publisher using mail merge

I am using Publisher with mail merge to print 4 postcards per page. On the other side I want to include the first name of the recipient in the greeting. When I print all of the addresses are the same on every card.

I am sending out a mailing for 2000 cards, so I need to automate this as much as possible.

To print multiple addresses per sheet,You can try the following steps:

First Create the merged publication: In the Mail Merge task pane, under Create merged publications, you can:

Preview your merged publication (to see how it will look before you print all versions and to resolve potential issues)

Print your merged publication > Click Print.

In the Print dialog box, select the options that you want, and then click OK.

Important   To print different sets of merge data — for example, different names and addresses — on each sheet of paper, click Multiple pages per sheet in the Printing options section. If you choose Multiple copies per sheet, each sheet of paper will contain multiple copies of the same data.

You may want to look at this webpage on a step by step how to mail merge in publisher.

Hope this information is helpful.

What version Publisher? If you are using 2007 or 2010 be certain you are selecting *multiple pages per sheet* on the print screen.

The original poster was wanting to print on both sides of the cards with merge areas on each side. Is this what you are trying to accomplish?

I tried this and still get the same customer name on all 4 postcards.  Any other ideas?
