Desktop shortcut to page or section in OneNote

When I create a link to a page or section in OneNote 2010 clicking the link takes me to SkyDrive, where I keep my notebooks, and opens the page in the web app. Is there a way to get it to go to the appropriate place in my desktop OneNote?

There's a bit of a trick here.  If you copy a link as plain text (such as a desktop shortcut) it will createtwo links: the first to SkyDrive, the second to OneNote locally.  Paste the link into Notepad and you'll see two lines of text.  What you want is the second link that begins withonenote:  Re-copy this line from Notepad and paste it into your shortcut path.  Sorry about this extra step; it's supposed to make it easier to paste links into IE, such as e-mailing a shared notebook link to a friend who doesn't even have OneNote installed so they can view the notebook in their browser.

If you copy a OneNote link into a program that supports HTML content (such as Word and Outlook) you'll get both links together.  Pasting the link within OneNote will only include the OneNote link.

It would be interesting to compare the content of

    1. the URL-parameter of your desktop shortcut and
    2. a link created by Create Hyperlink to Paragraph (don't look with mouse hover, use right click and Edit Hyperlink)

Is the notebook stored locally in the hard drive?

The link created will always take you to the place where the original file is stored.

Hi Sachin. As I said, the notebooks are on SkyDrive, and the question is exactly  "Is there a way to get it to go to the appropriate place in my desktop OneNote?". If I click a page or section link within Desktop OneNote, the link takes me to the right place in Desktop OneNote, not the WebApp.
