Copying and pasting Web tables into Excel?

Hi, gang.  I'm trying to copy a spreadsheet from a web (the Forbes Global 2000 (http://www.forbes.com/lists/2010/18/global-2000-10\_The-Global-2000\_Rank.html)) into Excel so that I can access the data without having to do laborious searches on the Forbes website.  Does anyone know if there's a simple way of doing this, maybe with an Import-from-Webpage function in Excel, or something similar?

For the record, I've tried screen captures and the regular copy-and-paste, but those features won't auto format to an Excel spreadsheet, and I'm loathe to input all that data myself.

Of course, I intend to contact Forbes to see if they have any data they can give out, but I'm not holding my breath....

Thanks,

Greg

Hmm.  When I do it the way you describe, it dumps all the data into a single cell, A1.  Could it be that I don't have Excel configured properly, or the same way you have yours configured?

Wait, wait, wait!  Breaking news update: When I hit Paste Special instead of just Ctrl+V, then chose Text, everything went smoothly.

Okay, problem solved.  Funky, but fixed.

    Thanks, Shane!

P.S. For what it's worth, I'm using Firefox and had to hold down the Ctrl button while copying.

I copy the web content, select the top left cell of the range I want to populate, and use Alt-E-S-U, which is Paste Special - Unicode Text. It usually does what I expect.

I went to the sight and carefully highlighted from the top left corner of the table, left of RANK to the bottom right corner of the data in the table 63.56, I then press Ctrl+C, moved to cell A1 in and Excel spreadsheet and Ctrl+V.

Everything came in perfectly, I was able to copy it to here, (this post) but it was too long to Submit so you will need to do it from the web site.
