A family of Microsoft presentation graphics products that offer tools for creating presentations and adding graphic effects like multimedia objects and special effects with text.
You have two options to try this.
- Link to the hyperlink address of the PowerPoint files in SharePoint
- Link to the UNC of the PowerPoint files in SharePoint
It's been awhile since I tried this and I don't have a SharePoint site handy to test so you'll have to experiment and I'm assuming you're using MOSS 2007. With SharePoint 2010 and the new Web Apps this will probably be easier to achieve.
First, save the files as PPSX files so they'll automatically play (no guarantees that'll actually work, but it's worth a shot.) Next, open your main PowerPoint presentation and also open an IE window to your SharePoint site. Go to your document library that contains the files. Right click on the link to one of the PowerPoint files and click properties. Note the link to the file. This is the hyperlink you'll need to use to link to this file. Enter the link in your main PowerPoint presentation. Repeat for your other presentation files. Save your main presentation file as a PPSX and upload it to your document library. Click on the main presentation file and click on the hyperlinks. If that works, you're done. If not, try the UNC method described below.
On the document library toolbar, click Actions, Open in windows explorer. Click on one of the files to open it and close it. Minimize the windows explorer window. This time when you add a hyperlink in your main presentation, click to browse to the files and you should find them under Network in Windows Explorer.
