SharePoint 2007: minimum hardware requirements

We have a 2-tier installation of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 running with SQL 2005.

The specifications onhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485(office.12).aspx#section2 stipulate that a 2.5 GHz processor is needed for the application server.

In our current installation, the application server is an Intel Xeon CPU E5405 at 2.00 GHz and 2.00GB of RAM.  It is a virtual machine, with only one core exposed. The O/S is Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64, SP2.

We are operating this system in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.  In order to satisfy regulatory requirements for system validation, we require documented confirmation that MOSS 2007 will run on the hardware described above.  Please confirm.

Note: Specifications for the database server are met.  We only have an issue with the web & application server.

    Francois Baudoin,

This a forum for help and support of Microsoft products.  The kind of documentation you are looking for not be supplied via this website.  I would suggest you call Microsoft Sharepoint support and see if they can assist.  I should also note, when you see System Requirements recommened then choosing to run it on something other then recommended requirements is kind of at your risk.
