So I have this HUGE sheet in excel. Can I put a formula in a cell so that if I want to instantly go to a particular cell (or set of cells) within the sheet that I could.

Example:

Go to: s6 (=section 6) and when I enter s6 enter it instantly goes to the part of the spreadsheet?

Is this at all possible?

Thanks.

    Hi,

An alternative would be to press Ctrl+G and then type the cell address in the reference box

in the formula bar in the upper left of Excel (below the menu) there is the name box.

If you type S6 there and hit enter, it will go to cell S6.  Is that what you mean.

Otherwise, look at the hyperlink worksheet function.  Also, you can hit F5 to get the goto dialog and specify there where you want to go.

Just to expand on Tom's response. You can also use the Name Box to select ranges either within the currently visible area of the sheet or within the "out of view" area of the sheet... just type the range (for example, A150:D160) into the Name Box, hit enter and you will be taken to that range and it will be selected. You can also go to a cell or range on another sheet by prefacing the cell or range with the sheet name. For example, from Sheet1, type Sheet3!S78 or Sheet4!M12:P34 into the Name Box, hit enter, and you will be taken to the specified cell or range on the specified sheet.
