Migrating Custom Attributes using ADMT

My customer would like to use the Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) to perform an inter-forest migration of user accounts. Their Active Directory scheme attributes have been extended on the host domain and are not being copied to target Active Directory across a domain part of a different forest. They are able to successfully migrate the custom attributes over though when migrating a user from one domain in the forest to another domain in the same forest (Intra-Forest migration) but not when performing an inter-forest migration.

    Overview

    • Create the new domain/forest.
    • Create a trust between the old and the new
    • Migrate the users from the old to the new (ADMT 3.1 or older***)
    • Break the trust
    • Kill the old forest
