Problem print A4 paper from Word 2010

Hi,

I run Windows 7 with Office 2010 on it. I can't print A4 from Word 2010 to a HP printer. I have another Windows XP with Office 2007 installed. I am able to print A4 paper from Word 2007 to the same printer. I tested to print Adobe PDF file on the computer which has Office 2010 on it. It is OK to print to A4. So it is just Word 2010, Excel 2010 cannot print A4 paper. What could be the problem?

Any help will be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Grace

If the document itself is meant to be A4, then A4 should be selected on the Paper tab of Page Setup for that document, and you should not have to use any scaling in the Print dialog. Go to File | Options | Advanced: Print and clear the check box for "Scale content for A4 or 8. 5 x 11" paper sizes" (many users report that this option does not do what is intended).

    Hi Suzanne,

Thank you for your reply. The default paper size is letter. I select A4 when I print, but the print out is still letter. Scale content for A4 or 8.5x11" paper size is checked in word option.

    Please advise!

    Thanks again,

    Grace

    Dear Mrs. Suzanne S. Barnhill,

Disable the "Scale content" option in Word's Options is responded to my issue.

    Thank you very much!

Thank you very much Suzanne! It works after disable the "Scale content" option in Word's Options. Don't understand why.

The document is letter by default, but I want to print it to A4.

    Thanks,

    Grace

What paper size is selected as the printer's default? That will be the default in Word unless you have changed it through Page Setup. Another setting that will affect Word is File | Options | Advanced: Print: Scale content for A4 or 8. 5 x 11" paper sizes.
