I want to make the line that goes through strikeout text red.  I CANNOT figure out how to do that.  The line is black---and it wants to STAY black.  Any help appreciated.  Thanks.

Sorry, you can't do that. The color of the strikethrough line is the same as the color of the text.

Inserting a line from Insert > Shapes is a rather unattractive alternative...

Hi, thanks, again, for answering my query.  Just went to my "old" computer that has Word 2002.  All my strikeouts are in red.  The  deleted text is changed to red also.  Under a "Tracking Changes" option, "insertion" and deletions can have a color chosen. Hmmmmmmm...........

You are correct that the strikeout line color cannot be changed  independently of the text color.  The strikout and the text have to be the same color.  But, at least I can get the text with the strikeout to stand out---colorwise---from the rest of the document's black text.  That's, basically, what I needed to do.  Much appreciated.

As far as I know, it has never been possible to change the strikethrough color independently of the text color...

Thanks so much, whoever you are!  I will have to learn to "do without," I guess.  Seems like the old Word used to let us change the strike out color.  Maybe I am mis-remembering.  Thanks again.  Gene
