I reformatted my hard drive and need Microsoft Office 1997, 2000 or 2003 TRIAL.  I purchased Microsoft Office update some time ago and would prefer to continue to use this but I cannot find the trial version I need.  Please Help!

So you have an Upgrade version of Office 2003? You do need to obtain a qualifying product (this is the MAJOR downside of purchasing an Upgrade version...).

You need to supply (not neccesarily install - inserting the relevant CD usually is sufficient) proof of one of the following:

Office XP Developer, Office XP Professional with FrontPage, Office XP Professional Special Edition, Office XP Professional with Publisher, Office XP Professional, Office XP Small Business Edition, Office XP Standard, Office 2000 Developer, Office 2000 Premium, Office 2000 Professional, Office 2000 Small Business Edition, Office 2000 Standard, Office 97 Professional, Office 97 Small Business Edition (version 2), Office 97 Small Business Edition (version 1), Office 97 Standard, Works Suite 2004, Works Suite 2003, Works Suite 2002, Works 2000, Works 8.0, Works 7.0, or Works 6.0

You may be able to pick one of those up quite cheaply on EBay....

I did not know that.  When I put the upgrade disk in it states that it will look for a version to upgrade from.  I am not sure what it originally upgraded from.  Is there another way I can do this?

But you can't use a TRIAL version as a qualifying product for the upgrade. There must have been some other product (Works perhaps?) originally on your computer.

Thanks for answering.  I purchased the upgrade and it requires the Microsoft Office (older version) to be on your system.

Not a chance I'm afraid. Why do you need a TRIAL version?
