Vertical lines appearing on right side of doc pages

On four pages I have a couple of short (1/2") vertical lines that appear on the right side, along side the text but not part of it.  This isn't something I've added nor can I delete it.  Any thoughts?  They are in the Word 2010 docx (WIN on Vista) and show up on the pdf.

Thanks!!

You may have accidentally turned on a border in one paragraph and now it is carrying on in each new para you create after it.

Home tab / Paragraph group / Border Drop down. If the cursor is in one of the affected paragraphs, the background of the icon will be orangish.

Do you have Track Changes turned on? If so, then lines show where you have made changes in the document. Do you see "Track Changes: On" in the status bar? If you don't see "Track Changes" at all there, then right-click the status bar at the bottom, and click to place a check next to Track Changes. Is it turned on?

If so, then you probably turned it on by accident (or someone with whom you're collaborating on that document might have turned it on deliberately).

Click the Review tab to access the Track Changes/Show Markup features. If it's an accident, then choose Accept - Accept All Changes in Document. Then Click Track Changes in the  status bar to toggle the feature off.

I had a vertical line running through the right side of the whole document.  I had accidentally turned on 'Page Border'. This reply solved my problem. Thank you!
