Hi everybody. I am using Word 2010. My problem is that when I create a text box, or draw a shape, I set its dimension by number, for example, I create a text box and enter its dimensions which are 10 inches long and 5 inches wide. The paper is A4. The printer properties is set to use A4 as default, too.

But when I print it out and use a ruler to examine, the dimensions of the text box on paper is not 10x5 inches, its always less than that, about 9.5x4.7 inches.

How can I make Word to print exactly the same size as I set?

Does the text box size reduce only in this particular file or all the files which contain text boxes?

Do you have any other issues while printing?

Try the same in other Office applications like Excel, Power point and check.

Try to print in application safe:

Open run window (Windows key + R) copy and paste the below line and click ok to open in safe mode.

Winword /safe

Create a text box and try to print and verify the status. If dimension comes correctly disable add-ins from File> Options> Add-ins and verify the issue.

If you face the same issue in safe mode; change default printer and check with printing.
