Old computer crashed, I need the Microsoft web site to download office professional 2007. I have the key from my purchase but no disk.

What do I do when it wont accept my Key?
I have a dvd but apparently it is damaged as it hangs during install at the same file each time. I use the key with the dvd to attempt the install and it works. So why won't it work at the download site?
I need to install on my new laptop. I lost the software in a house fire. I had windows 7 now running windows 8 how do I get this. I do not have my product key lost computer and everything in a house fire.

Without the Key you are up a creek without the proverbial paddle, so unless you have the physical proof of purchase, for a retail version you have lost it.
There's something to be said for cloud based backup for storing important data - Keys, installation files, and other important data (Apart from the standard off site backup)
And if you have/had house insurance any software is claimed on that, together with the other items.
