Access database size limit

This relates to Access 2007.  I have set up a few tables (3 or 4) and entered the data into the fields for each record.  However, at a point, I get a message that the database has reached its maximum size and I am unable to input more records.  This occurs when I have maybe 150 total records across 3 tables.  The file size is around 1.5 MB.  I am sure there are companies that have TONS more records to inmput, so I think this must be some kind of error.  Has anyone else had this problem and how can I fix it?

Thanks.

the maximum size is 2 GB, but Access needs some spare room for operations.

    Try compacting the database:

    • Click the Office button.
    • Click Manage > Compact and Repair Database.

Have you applied all the service packs to your office installation?  For 2007 see:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=B444BF18-79EA-46C6-8A81-9DB49B4AB6E5&displaylang=en

Not sure, for some reason I did not get the message this time.  i will repost if I do.  The file size is around 600 KB; I merged several files into one file since it let me this time.  It has happened more than once, so I will repost it if it happens again.

Also, post the EXACT wording of the error message.  It may not be exactly what you think it is saying.
