    Open Word,

click on the Office orb in the top left,

in the dialog that appears [in its bottom right corner] click on Word options,

in the list that appears on the left hand side click on advanced,

In the section called "Show document content" [about a third of the way down the long list of advanced options], clear the check box next to "Show field codes instead of their values"

    Select OK

    That's it - all done.

Just open the word document and press "ALT+F9". Problem will get going.

Post this in the Office forum not the Windows 7 forum [there's a link at the top of the page] and you'll get much better help from people.

You have set your Word to display "field codes" instead of "fields".  select the items concerned, right-click, Toggle field codes and it will show you what was intended rather than the code that makes it do so.

I will try to post on Office forum (I am not on top of this computer language).  You are correct here.  So How can I fix this setting so that I will not have to correct each item on each document each time I open it?
