Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
You have to install office, 2007 is not portable.
How did you buy Office originally? You may not be allowed to transfer it to a new computer.
Do you have a record of the original Product key? Do you have the installation cd (I think it is safe to say no to this, but I have to ask)?
In theory, you could put your drive into a similar computer, boot from it, then use a freeware tool to extract the product key from the registry. Then you would remove your HD from the computer. You would use the extracted product key to install on your current computer. Or if you want to get really geeky, I read once that there is a way of reading a registry file that is in a drive that is not the boot drive.
Actually there is NOW 1 way of running Word from USB. The new Office Starter crippleware/adware has a function that allows you to install a portable version of starter onto a USB drive.
