Microsoft Office Windows XP Home Edition

I purchased a used computer a few years ago - Windows XP.  I purchased a Microsoft Office Windows XP Home Edition update and have the applicable license  and Product Key Code.  The computer crashed a few months ago. A friend "re-built" my computer, actually I think it's a different computer, but the computer does not have  the Microsoft Office on it.  How can I have Office installed on the computer, without having to purchase Microsoft Office again?  Thanks for any help you can give me.

First, I really don't know what "Microsoft Office Windows XP Home Edition update" is.  I have to assume you have an edition of Office XP, and possibly a version upgrade license.

If you have the installation disc for Office XP, insert the disc and let autorun start it up.  Does it tell you that it can't find a qualifying previous installation of Office to upgrade?
