Can you attach a Word Document to a Microsoft Project 2010 Task?

I have a task that will require several meetings. I would like to be able to attach the meeting notes to the task in Project 2010.

So when I need to show my work I can open Project 2010 and when I get to this task I would be able to quickly open the Word document to show the meeting notes.

I know about the Notes option in Microsoft Project 2010 but that just doesn't work for what I need.

Thank You

-Double click on the task name to open the Task Information Dialog Box

-In the Notes tab, click on Insert Object button (tooltip will help to find, it is the rightmost one)

-Select Create from File, then Browse and locate your file and Insert

-Make sure to turn on Link check box

-Click OK

You will be now able to see icon for the document inside the Notes tab entry area. Double clicking the icon will open the document. Double clicking the yellow notes symbol in the indicator column for the task will open the Notes tab quickly.

The indicator column shows a note icon when you embed into the Notes field.  There is no Word or PowerPoint icon appearing.  Another option is to create a Hyperlink to the folder containing the word and PowerPoint documents and change the screen tip.  Again, an indicator appears in the indicator column or you can add the Hyperlink field to the Gantt chart for another type of notice.

    I hope this helps.

I need to embed a doc (an artifact) in Project into several different tasks.

I follow from above how to accomplish this.

What I Don't Understand is why, after I do this, there is no indication/icon/tickler in the GANTT view that a given task now has a document attached.

How can I have some visual signal informing other viewers of my Project Plan that tasks 5,7, 11, etc now have WORD and PowerPoint documents attached to these tasks??

You can insert the meeting minutes as Ismet has shown you. However only people with project will then be able to see tham (unless you include a copy which in turn means "which is the correct master?". Better to add a Hyperlink to teh task pointing to the master file.
