how to make lines (that people write on in hard copy form) that line up to make a professional looking form

Need to learn how to make a form with lined up underscoring. Need to write date with a line to write on and fill in the date, and several other categories with a line to write on. I need to learn how to make the lines line up so the form looks professional. Someone once showed me how to turn on paragraph marks and tab over to make my lines, that way they all line up nicely. I can't remember how to do it. Can anyone direct me?

Runover lines are not an issue when the form is designed to be filled out  in hard copy. But tables are among the options presented at http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm.

I was going to write exactly what D. Zotian suggested. works for me every time.  and it also stops the lines carrying over to the next "line" when text is added.

I tend to cheat when I have to do these type of things in a document, and create a Table. I then turn off the borders around it EXCEPT for where the date/signature/text needs to be. It may not be the best way, but I find it the fastest and easiest way to make sure everything lines up.

In the format tabs dialog, select the type of leader (either a solid line, or a row of dots) that you require.  To get to the Format Tabs dialog in Word 2010, click on the arrow at the right hand end of the Paragraph section of the Home tab of the Ribbon and in the Paragraph dialog that appears, click on the Tabs... button.
