where do I find the cent symbol?

Where do I find the cent symbol, I read one idea that said use control + / then control + c, but control + / does nothing in word for me.

    Shortcut key “Ctrl+/,C” means hold down Ctrl and press / key, release keys (nothing will happen on screen) then press c key.

    Or Insert tab, Symbols group, Symbol, More Symbols, the cent symbol is near the top of the scroll, next to the Pound £ sign.

    Or you can also do the Character code: type 00a2 then press Alt+x.

    While holding the ALT key, type in the numbers 0162 (this is much easier if you have a keypad).  This will insert the ¢ symbol where your cursor last resided.

    if all this fails, as it did for me, hold the Alt/Option button and kit the 4$ key. ¢ come up.
