Why can't I find the Design Tab in 2010 - it was easily available in 2007?

What design tab are you talking about?

The main tabs in Word 2010 are the same as Word 2007 except the Office Menu has been replace with a "File" tab in Office 2010 and there is no "Design" tab.

Are your referring to a contextual tab like TableTools>Design?  It is in the same place.

Are you refering to the "Developer Tab?"  FILE>OPTIONS>CUSTOMIZE RIBBON.  In the MAIN TABS dialog check "Developer"

On the Home ribbon, go to Change Styles, then choose Style Set.  After you apply the style set, go to the Page Layout ribbon and use Themes to change the fonts and colors.

FYI, not all of my text was styled in the manner I wanted when I applied the style set, so I had to use Styles on the Home ribbon to get them correct before changing the Theme.

In Word 2011, choose the Layout tab to change themes.

Please note, you can't change individual theme colors in Word. To do this, you need to open PowerPoint, create a custom color theme, save it, then go back to Word and apply the saved theme.

I am unable to locate the Design Tab in Word 2011 which allows you to change the Theme color when you are having a heck of a time with urls in a document.  All I want is for my text to be black but the Theme has designated somehow that some urls are purple.  Not even blue.  Perhaps there is a work around.  Thanks anyone!

I'm trying to sett a different header for page 1 as compared to the rest of my paper.  I used Design tab on 2007, but can't figure out how to do this within 2010
