How do I adjust the spacing between the letters in a Word Starter document?

Is there a way to remove or lessen the spacing between the letters in the example sentence below?:

 I   l o o k   f o r w a r d   t o   t h e   o p p o r t u n i t y   t o   d i s c u s s   t h e   r o l e   o f   S p e c i a l i s t   w i t h   y o u   a n d   a s k / a n s w e r   f u r t h e r   q u e s t i o n s   r e g a r d i n g   t h i s   p o s i t i o n .

    Select the text, right-click, choose Font, and select the Advanced tab. Change the letter spacing as required.

    Thank you, Suzanne. I just tried expanding a line by 0.4 pts and it worked. To see the effect clearly  I set zoom to 200%. I updated the style to match and avoided having to change 700 instances of that style individually. Styles, when used within their limitations, are the way to go.

    You can type in any amount you want in increments of 0.1 point. I have a dedicated button that condensed text by 0.1 point.

    Works well but apparently the letter spacing has to be a multiple of 0.5 point. 1 pt is much too wide and 0.5 pt is slightly wider than I want.
