I have an Eccel (2007) workbook with many sheets/worksheets. I want to add one header to all of the sheets. Can I do this in one addition?

    Yes,

I'm working with Excel 2010 and it's tabs, so hopefully 2007 has same options in roughly the same locations. (It does, I just checked on another system here with 2007 on it).

Right-click on any worksheet's name tab and choose "Select All Sheets" in the list that appears.  Then go to the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon and open up the Page Setup group.  Choose the [Headers and Footers] tab and set up your custom header/footer.  It will appear on all sheets selected.

When you are done, click on any single sheet's name tab to ungroup them because if you don't then anything you enter into the visible sheet will also affect all other selected sheets.

Is there a way to add the same header and footer to all the sheets in a workbook other than doing it one by one?

The following reply (in "..") doesn't show a way to do what the original question asked (specifically, following the reply to the letter produces a header on only one of the worksheets, not for any other worksheet in the workbook)

    "Yes, you can.

    • Insert > Header & Footer
    • Customize as per your requirement

The header & footer will be visible in "Page Layout" view (under View menu) and not "Normal" view. Again H & F will be visible during the print preview as well.

If you don't want standard H & F then you can insert them by selecting all sheets together and inserting H & F manually. This will make sense if you have similar data layout across sheets."
