Headers & Footers with different content on each page

I'm preparing a document with about 75 pages.

I want to put the same header and footer format on each page, but insert different header and footer text for each page.

I'm using Word 2011 for Mac.

How can I do that?

Thanks

Charles, a document can have different headers and footers, but for that you need to use Sections. Do this:

    1. Place your cursor at the point in the text where you want to start the second page.
    2. In the main menu bar, choose Insert > Break > Section Break (Next Page).
    3. Select View > Header and Footer.
    4. In the Ribbon, click on the new purple tab Header and Footer. The blue label will tell you the section number.
    5. Use the icons "Previous Section" and "Next Section" to get to Section 1. If you don't see them, make your document window wider by moving it from the bottom right corner.
    6. Use the "Go to Header" and "Go to Footer" icons to change from header to footer in Section 1.
    7. Once your Section 1 header/footer looks like you want it, click on the "Next Section" icon.
    8. You will be on Section 2. If the blue label says "Same as previous," you need to disable "Link to previous," which appears further to the right. This checkmark is the secret to making independent headers and footers.
    9. Change your Section 2 header and footer like you want them.
    10. Repeat from step 2 for every new page.

When you do step 2, you will notice that Word repeats the last Header and Footer. As long as the blue label does not say "Same as previous," they will be independent.

Accessing the page header (or footer) enables the purple tab.

The blue legend is a consequence of the checkmark.

I am following all of these steps. My check box is unlinked, however none of the headers will remain independent. PLEASE HELP. This is very frustrating. I know I have my sections because when I use the move to next section button, it goes exactly where I expect it to go. I've double checked and they are correct. PLEASE HELP
