How do I get rid of "Click here to enter text" in a Word 2010 fillable form?

I'm trying to create a simple fillable form with text boxes. I get as far as inserting the boxes which say "Click here to enter text."  I have tried checking the "Remove content control when contents are edited" box in the Plain Text Properties but  "Click here to enter text" stays there. Any ideas?

    Hi Jeb,

Just select the text "Click here to enter text" and press delete.

Thanks, what I was trying to do was create the form and have  "Click here to enter text" vanish when I entered the text. It turns out that I needed to click Design Mode again so I would turn it off and then save the document. Problem solved.

    Go to "Options" > "Advanced."

Unclick the two "Overtype Mode" check-boxes.

Also, if you fill each field with a line of underscores "_______," and then underline them further by using the underline button, then when the user clicks tab to proceed to that field, the underlining will remain underneathe of whatever they type.

Do a quick web search on "how to modify placeholder text".
